Overall though, the Hollywood tropes killed it. Jeff Bridges, Josh Brolin, Jennifer Connelly, Taylor Kitsch and Miles Teller star in Only the Brave, a drama about the Granite Mountain Hotshots who battled against the Yarnell Hill fire in. But that could be due to my fire line experience - I'm not sure how that scene works for the public. And as others have mentioned, the burnover scene definitely made my hands sweaty. I liked that there was no real reason asserted as to why they left the black. The movie also stuck quite faithfully to the reports and firsthand accounts of yarnell hill. I thought the scenes of training and the fire line were decently realistic (I still couldn't help but cringe when the Supe talks to the fire, or the interaction between the shot crew and granite mountain in the beggining). The only thing I have to add is a rumor, with that being that Brenda Chapman was making the film much more darker than other Pixar films. Having said that, there are certain aspects of the movie that surpassed my (very low) expectations.

The scenes with Jennifer connely made me cringe. And both of their character development arcs are Hollywood tropes as well. Over two hours of film and you only meet two people from the crew. An hour and a half of tired Hollywood tropes and then, all of a sudden, everyone is dead.
